The 'Galactic Encounters' series of books are stories and background loosely set in the TTA background, mainly in the 24th century. Written by Steven Caldwell, the six books in the series cover various aspects of the federation, it's background and some fiction/scenario's. Generally not as well known as the TTA books, I spent about seven months tracking down good copies across the internet, nearly all sourced from Amazon zShops resellers. Some of the artwork is repeated from the TTA books, but generally this only accounts for about 15% (on average) of the total amount in each 'Galactic Encounters' book. For example the cover image above is repeated from the of one of the piece's in 'Great Space Battles' (The Hunters of Asterion) and also forms the back cover page on the hardback version of the book.

'Star Quest' is a single-story format book which covers the expedition of the crew of the 'Venturer' into uncharted space and its encounter with the Phalan Empire. A reasonable quality book in amount of artwork and text, I can recommend sourcing this book. Expect to pay between 5-12 GBP for a good quality copy probably with a clear dustcover attached.
